talking about mental health through music

my latest podcast in collaboration with resident advisor & black minds matter

the podcast showcases prominent Black talent in electronic music, including Radio 1’s Tiffany Calver and Kiss FM’s Henrie

Fred Conybeare has launched Don’t Keep Hush, with DJ Vanessa Maria – an initiative aimed at tackling mental health in and around the music industry. Their recent DKH campaign has involved throwing a Don’t Keep Hush party, and releasing t-shirts with proceeds going to Black Minds Matter

What is Don’t Keep Hush?

It’s basically an initiative to normalise open (boundaried) conversations around mental health. That doesn’t mean speaking publicly on social media. It means opening up to a friend, family member or even a stranger.

We also make merch and run parties to fundraise for mental health charities that are running great projects. Hoping we can continue to build a community of people that care about wellbeing.

London Metropolitan University and Vanessa Maria has launched the Openspace, a new service to help facilitate the wellbeing of students

The Openspace is a series of online webinars designed by speaker and creative, Vanessa Maria Wilson, to support your wellbeing. It's a space where you can learn more about managing stress and anxiety, build up your confidence and self-esteem and work towards becoming your best possible self
